Women of Malaysia was established and officially launched on 7th of May 2011.
Women of Malaysia, also known as WoM, is an online women's magazine specially created to celebrate the diverse beauty and strengths of all the women in Malaysia.
Started with just an anonymous blog on Tumblr, Shafiqah Shafie (WoM's founder) has a deep interest in writing, especially when it comes to women topics, fashion and lifestyle.
After receiving some good responses from the visitors on her anon blog, Shafiqah decided to convert her personal blog into something bigger.
Hence, the idea of creating an online magazine of her own came to mind.
Through the determination she had and the endless support she received from her friends and loved ones, WoM was successfully launched on May 7th 2011 at Phileo Damansara, with high profile guests including international model Amber Chia, Miss Universe Malaysia Nadine Ann Thomas, Red FM DJ Linora Low and actress Ixora Chern attending the occasion.
After just a few weeks of its launch, WoM was fortunate to have gained over 10,000 visitors from around the world.
Other celebrities and public figures who have been gracing the online covers of WoM include MizzNina, Winnie Loo, Saleha Rahman, Mynn Lee, Heliza Helmi, Maria Elena, Hannah Tan, Andrea Fonseka and more.
When WoM reached one last year, the celebration took place at Kelab Golf Perkhidmatan Awam on May 12th 2012. International singer songwriter, Yuna Zarai was one of the guests of honor during the anniversary; debuting her spring/summer 2012 collection from her fashion line, IAMJETFUEL.
